Our God is a good God!! He is a good God not because when we pray, He answers us, but because its His nature. The bible says that every good and perfect gift is from above and cometh down from the father of light, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.
Jesus continues teaching His disciples, He mentioned in vs 13-14 ‘’ Enter by the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction and those who enter by it are many. For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life and those who find it are few’’. Don’t look for shortcut to God or easy-going formulas for a successful life. Don’t fall for that stuff even though crowds of people do. The way to life- to God! is vigorous and requires total attention.
The gate is ‘narrow’ because there is only a single means of salvation which is Christ. Christ is the only way, the bible says Jesus Christ is the way, truth, and the light.
In verse 15 Jesus has just shown us how to identify false prophets. He said beware of false prophets who come to you in sheep clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves. Jesus said we can identify them by them fruits, and by their fruits he meant we will know them through their words, their decisions, actions, their mindset, their motives. Jesus encourages us not to be impressed by Charisma, but to look out for character. Who preachers are is the main thing not only what they say.
Jesus continued teaching and He said not everyone who says to me ‘Lord, Lord’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven but he who does the will of my father who is in heaven. Did you understand what Jesus said, Jesus said because you know Him as Master, won’t get you any where, what is required is serious obedience-doing what God wills. The will of God is not what you want, its neither your preference nor is it centered around you. The will of God is being and doing the mind of Christ concerning you. A lot of times that could also mean reaching out. You may not like the will of God or even want it but scripture says not everyone who calls me ‘Lord, Lord’ will enter the kingdom of heaven but he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.
Now I understand from the scriptures that salvation is required for you to enter into Gods Kingdom (Romans10:8-10, 1 Thess 4:16-17). Secondly Baptism; immersion into water. And now Jesus is saying doing the will of His Father.
Jesus is a people person, and it is His will that we reach out to as many people as we can for Him. We can do this my spreading the good news of the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ and baptizing them in the Holy Ghost, letting them know about Jesus, the testimony of Jesus in our lives and much more he can do for YOU if you know Him and accept Him. The bible says the harvest is plenty, but the labourers are few. This is the utmost will of the father “PEOPLE”!
