Plan Seasons and Time

I have been studying the book of Exodus, let’s say the story of Moses and guys I am not going to lie its been very informative and mind-blowing… So I wanted to share with Y’alllllllllllllll……

The book of Exodus 2:11-12 says ”Now it came to pass in those days when Moses was grown that he went out to his brethren and looked at their burden and saw an Egyptian beating a Hebrew one of his brethren. So he looked this way and that way and when he saw no one, he killed the Egyptian and hid him in the sand”. (If you noticed the word ”grown” is highlighted). As a child of God, we understand that there is time for everything, as the bible says in Eccl.3:1’For everything there is a season and a time for every activity under heaven”-NLT, it’s true that our calling, purposes and destines all work out in God’s perfect time. Paul said when I was a child I behaved, spoke and reasoned as a child but when I grew up(matured) I put away childish things. In as much as Moses was called to deliver the people of Israel God waited for a particular time to introduce that part of his destiny to him, no part in scripture indicates the age Moses was introduced or highlighted to the sufferings of his people.

Growth here does not necessarily mean physical growth, scripture says ‘When Moses was grown’. I understand that this means Moses had grown spiritually, the bible says he was a meek man, a humble man and God built compassion in him. I strongly believe that while he was still in the house of the pharaoh he must have questioned himself or even asked why the people of Israel went through so much torture, but he never received an answer because it was not time. We see another verse in the same scripture again where God worked with time and his season, remember Moses killed an Egyptian and pharaoh sought to kill him.

Moses had his season: Many years had passed from the period Moses fled from Egypt and settled in Midian, God favoured him and blessed him with a son. He called his name Gershon which meant I have been a stranger in a foreign land. I believe there’s more to this statement, Moses had found favour with the Lord and had seen the goodness of the Lord in a strange land, knowing fully well how he murdered an Egyptian and was being sought after to be killed. God had pruned him, covered him, and shown him kindness in a strange land and the goodness of God towards Moses had strengthened his trust in God. This was a period in which God was building and preparing Moses to deliver his people(a moment). Moses had his season before he fled Egypt and a season when he settled in Midian, I am certain Moses battled with guilt and shame, guys the man killed someone and buried him in the sand, I also believe he struggled with fear, I am sure he must have thought ‘what if my father inlaw finds out that I killed someone that was why I fled egypt’, but God was with Moses all through this seasons.

Time: Verse 23 says ”Now it happened in the process of time that the king of Egypt died and the children of Israel groaned and cried to God because of their bondage and God heard their cry. The bible went further to say God heard their groaning and remembered his covenant with Abraham, Issac and with Jacob and God acknowledged them. That automatically takes us to the story of Moses and the burning bush-God had seen that it was time for Moses to go back to Egypt to deliver his people.

God’s plans and seasons(phases)are important for the appointed time. As a child of God Its very important that we take cognizance of whatever season we are in and be intentional by walking with God through every season. Seasons are the phases of our lives this could be a phase of God building us, a phase of growth or even a phase of preparation and the time is only a moment – ”our breakthrough”.

You can delay your moment if you don’t walk with God in your season(s).

I love you more

Eseosa.

  1. Thank you for the insights and I agree, God definitely has seasons and times set and we must learn to align with His timing.
